Tirta Empul Temple is built around the sacred spring at Tampak Siring. Perpect stop to visit this temple after visit volcano at Kintamani Village. For more than a thousand years, Balinese worshipers have been drawn to Tirta Empul Temple whose sacred spring is said to have been created by Indra and to have curative properties. The tradition continues almost unchanged at the temple today. Over 1000 years old, the temple and its two bathing places have been used by the people for good health and prosperity because of the spring water’s curative powers. But the main attraction at Tirta Empul Temple is a long rectangular pool carved of stone, filled with koi and fed by the sacred spring via 12 fountains.

Panglipuran Village is a traditional Balinese Village located in Bangli Regency, Central Bali, about half an hour’s drive from Gianyar. Situated about 700 meters above sea level, making a visit to this village a refreshing break from the island heat to the cool mountain breeze. We particularly love Penglipuran for its incredibly clean state. In fact, this island recently was named as one of the cleanest villages in the world alongside Giethoorn in Netherlands and Mawlynnong in India. The best time to visit is around Galungan time, when rows of penjor (bamboo poles with weaving of coconut leaves and offerings suspended at the end) line up and decorate the village.

Gunung Kawi was also on the 44th US President Obama’s itinerary when he and his family holidayed in Bali in late June 2017.
