Pristine Beauty Found at Gili Nanggu

Mangsit Trip Overview

One of the least-known islands under the Gilis, Gili Nanggu’s nickname ‘Paradise Island’ is certainly deserved. Turquoise as turquoise as a sea can be, with waves gently washing up on the powder-white sandy shores are merely a few things that define the beauty of this ravenously-stunning piece of paradise. When even Lombok is slightly too crowded for your taste, a day trip to Gili Nanggu is what you need and what we can offer.

Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product

Stop At: Gili Nanggu, Lombok Barat, Desa Sekotong Barat, Lombok Indonesia

The road to paradise starts at around 8 am from your hotel lobby as we move in the direction of Gili Nanggu. The island itself is only 12.5 hectares in size and has only a small number of residents. Right at the moment, you feel the sand of the beaches between your toes, the sense of being on a deserted island will give you that feeling of finally finding that tropical place you always yearned for. The main attraction is snorkelling around the artificial and natural colourful reefs where there is an abundance of corals and sea life including starfish. Those who are lucky might spot a seahorse or sea snail.

Duration: 2 hours

Stop At: Sasak Village, Praya, Lombok Indonesia

Along the way, we head out to see how the local Sasak community makes a living. This includes a stroll through the local market at Kediri and how various, authentic handicraft still is created the old-fashion way at Banyumulek village. We enjoy lunch along the way at a local restaurant.

Stop At: Gunung Pengsong, Kuranji, Labuapi, West Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia

Plenty to see before we reach our Lebar (a traditional motorized outrigger), the sacred Mount Pengsong with its famed Hindu temple lies just en route to the harbour and home to hundreds of holy monkeys. Be mindful that these primates can be fiendish in grabbing your personal belongings, so we highly recommend protecting anything dangling well. But where we wanted to go finally has arrived and only 30 minutes by Lebar.

Stop At: Gili Nanggu, Gili Nanggu, Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara

There will be ample time to sit back, relax on Gili Nanggu’s beach or swim through the crystal clear waters surrounding the island.

Sadly, our time on paradise is over, and we head back to Lombok’s mainland by Lebar, followed by a short drive to your resort.
