Journey inland to a world of untouched villages, sacred springs and tumbling waterfalls far removed from coastal Lombok.
In the morning, leave the hotels and resorts in the Sengiggi and Mataram areas and be driven along a scenic road passing landscaped rice fields. Visit some of the long-lived houses and observe the daily life of the villagers. Watch as they weave elephant grass by hand into intricate boxes.
Continue to the water springs of Suranadi located by a protected forest, home to families of grey monkeys. Inside the temple complex are several sacred springs whose water comes from Mount Rinjani.
Moving on, take in the views by stopping at Sedau then continue driving through remote villages.
The next stop is at a series of spectacular waterfalls. Set off on foot along scenic mountain trails to the first waterfall, Benang Kelambu. From here walk a little further to Benang Stokel Waterfall, whose name means a roll of threads.

See a set of spectacular waterfalls. Set off on foot along scenic mountain trails to the first waterfall, Benang Kelambu. The name means the curtain of threads as the water resembles a net curtain as it flows down between thick moss and plants. From here walk a little further to Benang Stokel Waterfall, whose name means a roll of threads. The water tumbles for about 20 metres down a steep rock face into a beautiful clear pond. Cool off with a refreshing dip in the clean mountain water.
