Itinerary
Day 1: Transport to Bukit Lawang
Pass By: Bukit Lawang Jungle, Bukit Lawang 20774 Indonesia
Upon arrival at Kuala Namu International Airport you will be picked up by your private driver who will accompany you all the time on Sumatra. The drive to Bukit Lawang takes about 4 hours and takes you along rubber and palm oil plantations, lush jungles and mountain landscapes. You can stop on the way for photo stops or meal breaks. Our driver will assist you in communicating with the locals.

Day 2: Jungle trekking
Stop At: Mount Leuser National Park, Kong Paluh, Kutapanjang, Gayo Lues Regency, Aceh 24653, Indonesia
Today we will go on a 2-day jungle tour and with some luck you will be able to see orangutans in the wild. Our guides are licensed by the National Park Office and have years of experience in jungle trekking. Two guides are available for the day. You will be picked up at 9am from your accommodation and then you will go to the jungle together. The hike takes about 6h including breaks for photos and food.
In the afternoon you will reach the camp near a river. You can jump into the water or just relax. Our cook prepares an Indonesian dinner for you (vegetarian options possible). They sleep in a semi-open shelter, surrounded by the sounds of the river and the jungle.

Day 3: Jungle trekking
Stop At: Mount Leuser National Park, Kong Paluh, Kutapanjang, Gayo Lues Regency, Aceh 24653, Indonesia
After waking up, our chef will provide you with coffee, tea and breakfast. You can jump back into the fresh water of the river. Depending on the campsite we will then continue the jungle adventure and the trek for about 2 hours or we will go to a waterfall where you can swim and relax. You can also relax in the camp. After lunch we leave the camp for the traditional jungle raft.
The afternoon is at your free disposal. Accommodation in Bukit Lawang.

Day 4: Drive to Berastagi
Stop At: Brastagi Highland, Medan Indonesia
After breakfast you will be picked up by our driver. The drive to Berastagi takes about 5 hours, depending on traffic. You can however take breaks at will. Upon arrival, you can visit a local market or relax.

Day 5: Volcano climb and drive to Lake Toba
Stop At: Mount Sibayak, On the edge of Berastagi town Jaranguda, Doulu, Kabupaten Karo, Berastagi 22156 Indonesia
After a contemporary breakfast, you can climb the Sibayak Volcano, or visit the Hot Springs or the traditional village of Lingga on request.
Duration: 3 hours
Stop At: Lake Toba, 20217 Indonesia
Then continue south to Lake Toba, the largest crater lake in the world. On the way you can use for photo stops, e.g. at the Sisipiso waterfall, and take breaks. The journey takes about 3 hours. You drive to the harbor, from where you take the car ferry to Tuktuk on the island Samosir translate. The crossing takes about 30 minutes. Then it goes to the hotel. The evening is at your free disposal.

Day 6: Lake Toba
Stop At: Samosir Tourist Information Centre, Jl. Lumban Suhi Pangururan, Pangururan 22392 Indonesia
After breakfast, explore the island of Samosir and Lake Toba with your driver. Drive to Ambarita, Samosir’s most interesting village of the local Batak culture. From there we continue to Simanindo, where you can see the performance of a traditional Batak dance. Afterwards you drive to a beautiful vantage point from where you can look at Samosir Island and Lake Toba.

Day 7: Return to Medan
