The temple is dedicated to worship Vishnu while Tirta Empul itself means the holy water spring.The temple complex was built for the firstpresident of Indonesia in 1954.Just like any other Hindu temples in Bali, you need to pay attention to the dress code. Wearing a sarong is required and make sure your clothing covers your shoulders and knees. You can bring your sarong or simply rent one at the entrance. The entrance fee is required and the price list is available in the ticket counter. At the central courtyard, you will find the tourists mingle and some sellers sell snacks or fruits. The purification pools are located at the Jaba Tengah. People believe that holy water can cure various illnesses and bad luck. This place is pretty crowded while the pool is only 20 meters long and five meters wide. Still, Tirta Empul Temple is one of the must-visit places in Bali.
