Besakih Temple is a temple complex located in the village Besakih, District Rendang Karangasem regency, Bali, Indonesia. Besakih complex consists of 1 Pura Center (Penataran Besakih) and 18 Pura Assistants (1 and 17 Pura Pura Basukian Other). In Pura Basukian, in areas where the receipt is the first time the revelation of God by Hyang Rsi Markendya, the forerunner to the current Agama Hindu Dharma in Bali, as its center. Besakih is central to the activities of all temples in Bali. The site serves as a legendary setting of a traditional tale about good versus evil, its also a national cultural heritage site. The complex built in 960 AD is also a silent witness to the old Balinese kingdom years, particularly at the time of the Warmadewa Dynasty. Another nearby and prominent site on top of a hill is the presidential palace, Istana Tampaksiring, built during the years of the nation first president, Soekarno.

Gunung Kawi Rocky Temple is one of the most amazing Balinese Hindu temple, in order to get to this archeological site, we need to walk down to the valley on a couple hundreds step. There are some shops along the way selling typical tourist stuff although they also sell some unique handicrafts like coconut shell carving and bone carving. Bone carvings are indeed available all over Bali but its originally from this village. Some of talented carver specializing in carving the bone or even ivory are coming from this area. As you walk further down, your eyes will started to be pleased by the beautiful view of the valley.

Goa Gajah Temple is an archaeological site of significant historical value that makes it a special place to visit. Located on the cool western edge of Bedulu Village, six kilometers out of central Ubud, you do not need more than an hour to descend to its relic filled courtyard and view the rock-wall carvings, a central meditational cave, bathing pools and fountains. The temple name is slightly misleading, lending the impression that its a gigantic dwelling full of elephants.
