Day 0 (Arrival Day)
• Your driver will pick you up from any location or port within Lombok and bring you to your hotel in Senaru
• Visiting the two spectacular waterfalls in Senaru
• You will get a further short briefing for a better preparation
Day 1: Senaru – Sembalun – 8 to 9 Hours Ascent To The Crater
• Wake up at 6 AM, at 6.30 AM, get your free breakfast at the restaurant
• At 7 AM, your driver will drive you to Sembalun (1,156 m) for 1 H
• Do a register at Rinjani National Park office, be sure you bring your passport to the office
• Begin the trek to the POST 1 (1,300 m). The trek starts with the gentle ascent walking through open grassland used as cattle grazing by local people. You will arrive after walking for 1 hour 30 minutes, here you can take a short break for 10 – 15 minutes
• Continue the tour heading to the POST 2 (1,500 m) for 1 hours. Here you can take a long break for lunch and recover your energy
• Continue the trek to POST 3 (1,800 m) for 1 hours, the route is more a bit up and down
• From POST 3 to the Crater Rim (camp) is one of the hardest parts at Rinjani route, this part is also called as the regret hill
• After 3 hours 30 minutes, you will finally reach the Crater Rim (camp)
• Be prepared and sleep early, since you will wake up at 2 AM for a fight to the summit.
Day 2: Crater Rim (Camp) – 3 Hour Ascent To Summit – 1 Hour 30 Minutes (2 Hours) Descent to Crater Rim (Camp) – 4 to 5 Hours Descent To Sembalun
• Wake up at 2 AM for a few minutes light breakfast
• Begining the trek up to the SUMMIT (3,726 m), this is the hardest part of the trek, struggling for 3 or more hours to reach the summit
• The first half hours walk, you will reach the first obstacle which you have to climb through the sandy area for about 1 hour (with 45 degrees elevation)
• After past the sandy part, you will walk about 1 hour 30 minutes to get the second obstacle which many trekkers are giving up at this point, those at the last 400 m with 45 degrees elevation
• With 45 degrees elevation, loose rock, and gravel at all part of the route which makes it slippery and hard to find a good foothold. here most people say it like Michael Jackson dance (that two step up and one step back down)
• After 3 hours walk, you will reach the summit
• After picture, picture, and picture, descend from the summit to the campsite about 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours
• Get your breakfast which is already prepared by your porters, and prepare to get back down the descent to Sembalun about 5 to 6 hours (including lunch on the way)
• Once you arrive at Sembalun, your driver is already waiting to pick you up and bring you to the office
• Your driver will drop you off to your next destination
