Stop At: Elephant Cave, Jl. Raya Goa Gajah Desa Bedulu, Ubud 80581 Indonesia
Built in the 9th century as a sanctuary for meditation, this Façade has carvings of menacing creatures and demons also includes central meditation cave, bathing pools, & fountains. Considered sacred due to 2 small streams that meet here, forming a river junction. “Goa Gajah” or “Elephant Cave” believed that ancient descriptions refer to the name of the area as Antakunjarapada which means “elephant’s border” in a rough translation. The giant face at the entrance, which has since detiorated, was believed to be originally that of an elephant.

Stop At: Mas Carving Center, Mas Villages Ubud Indonesia
Mas is the village best known for its long tradition of woodcarving , even though the word “mas” means gold in Bahasa Indonesia. As is usual in Bali, this means that you will find a glut of workshops throughout the area, all offering similar product. It is worth visiting a woodcarving studio such as Dewa Malen to watch the craftsmen at work, practising the traditional skills that have been handed down from generation to generation.
The subject matter has evolved over the years from the very traditional characters based on ancient Hindu stories to more modern animals, some, including humans placed in somewhat compromising (and often complicated) poses.

The forest covers approximately 27 acres which is home to three Hindu temples, all constructed in the 1300’s. Tegalalang Rice Terrace is one of the famous tourist objects in Bali situated in Tegalalang Village north of Ubud Bali featured by the amazing rice terrace set the cliff. Tegalalang Village is located on 600 m above sea levels covered by good temperature where most of the villagers as a farmer.
