Yogyakarta Trip Overview
Pick up at 08.00 am at Jogjakarta city center hotel lobby. We will visit “Kraton”, the magnificent royal palace of the Sultan (Closed on Mondays) , Taman sari water castle, before continuing to visit the traditional Batik home industry & Silver processing at Kotagede. We will have a delicious lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, we will visit the Prambanan Hindu Temple, also called as the “Roro Jonggrang Temple”. Be ready to be awed at the biggest and finest Hindu temple in the whole archipelago. Transfer back to hotel in the evening. (L)

Sultan Palace or Kraton is a palace complex was built on 1755 – 1756 for 1st Yogyakarta King’s. The complex consists of a courtyard covered with sand from the south coast,
The wooden buildings of the complex have a traditional Javanese architectural style, decorated with flora, fauna, or nature motifs. Foreign influences (Portuguese, Dutch, and Chinese) are also seen. The buildings are of joglo construction.

Tamansari water castle is the site of a former royal garden of the Sultanate of Yogyakarta.Built in the mid-18th century, the Taman Sari had multiple functions, such as a resting area, a workshop, a meditation area, a defense area, and a hiding place.
Taman Sari consisted of four distinct areas: a large artificial lake with islands and pavilions located in the west, a bathing complex in the centre, a complex of pavilions and pools in the south, and a smaller lake in the east. Today only the central bathing complex is well preserved, while the other areas have been largely occupied by the Kampung Taman settlement.
