From Yogyakarta Airport, we head to Borobudur, the world’s biggest Buddhist monument complex dated from the 8th and 9th Century. The temple is considered as one of the Seven Wonders of the World and sits majestically on a hilltop overlooking lush green fields and distant hills. It was rediscovered by Sir Stamford Raffles in 1815 buried under volcanic ash and was restored with the help of UNESCO in the 1970s.
