Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product
Stop At: Borobudur Temple, Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Borobudur, Magelang 56553 Indonesia
When admiring the sunrise from the Borobudur is on your bucket list, be prepared to leave with our guide and driver at around 3.30 am from Yogyakarta. Just before the first light of a brand new day brighten up the horizon, we arrive at the main entrance of the Borobudur Archaeological Park, before heading to the viewpoint and seeing the contours of Mount Merapi slowly appearing against a, hopefully, clear sky (weather permitting). Your guide for the day will explain the intricate story behind the construction of the Borobudur as well during the time this temple was completely abandoned and buried under a thick layer of mud and dust. As we serve you a cup of fresh Java coffee/tea and a light snack, it is time for us to move towards Prambanan.
Duration: 3 hours
Stop At: Prambanan Temples, Jl. Raya Temulawak, Prambanan 55514 Indonesia
Farmers will head out in the field, tending to their crop and for us to cycle around the fields and get an up and close look how they still use traditional means to cultivate their land with the use of buffalos and honest, manual labour. We avoid the busy roads but cycle over asphalted narrow roads in the direction of the Boko Temple, situated on a hill. The cycling tour is approximately 2.5 hours, and we make use of well-maintained bikes that can handle the terrain we’re taking.
Our morning paddle ends at the Prambanan Temple. Contrary to the Borobudur, the Prambanan is constructed as a sanctuary for Hindus. Also known as the ‘Temple of the Slender Virgin”, the Prambanan consists of three major temples dedicated to the Hindu Gods trinity.
Duration: 3 hours
